Enid Blyton (11 August 1897 – – 28 November 1968) (also known as Mary Pollock) was the most successful children’s penny-a-liner of her generation. A fruitful writer, she completed over Cardinal books during her lifetime. She is in the top 10 all-time bestseller lists – link books having sold over 600 million copies

Shy in her family with the public, Enid Blyton revealed little of her hidden life.
